MST-100 Instructions

• Align the bottom (load side) blades with the bottom meter socket jaws and then rock the top blades into the meter socket.
• All blades should be engaged with the meter socket jaws at this point.
• Observe the Fault Lamps on the upper half of the MST-100 Meter Socket Tester.
• If either one (or both) of the Fault Lamps is (are) glowing DO NOT SET THE METER.
• This indicates that the corresponding fuse is has opened. The fuse will open if excessive load current is flowing—this can be caused by a normal load over 30 amps, or caused by a short-circuit.

• Locate the Test Switch at the bottom of the MST-100 Meter Socket Tester face. It is located at the 6 o’clock position.
• Make sure all blades are in contact with the meter socket jaws and then toggle the test switch.
• If both red Fault Lamps glow upon operation of the Test Switch go to step 3.

• Make sure all the blades are properly plugged into the meter socket jaws. Check the Amp meter reading.
• Determine the level that is acceptable by your company for the meter form that is being installed.

If the number of amps exceeds the acceptable level for the meter form factor,
DO NOT SET METER.
Otherwise, it is safe to set the meter.
